So we know 5 grand won't buy Perry...

Michele Bachmann Slams Rick Perry On Gardasil During CNN/Tea Party Debate - YouTube

Scroll to 0.45 seconds... Five grand doesn't buy Perry, but the way he answered certainly implies there is a price..

Question is, what's the number?

It reminded me of an old joke:

Man walks up to a girl and asks her "will you have sex with me for a million dollars?"

she says "yes"

he says "well, how about five dollars then?"

she says "you think I'm some kind of whore?"

he answers "we've already established that fact, now we're arguing over price."

The most telling part of that particular debate was the audience reactions. The more the Clown Brigade panders to the Tea Baggers, the worse the eventual GOP nominee will do in the General Election.

Nice. Libs are like a pack of hungry attack dogs. They never miss an opportunity to take a cheap shot. If they have no proof of wrongdoing, no problem...just imply it from his inflection, or the way he raised an eyebrow. You don't need facts to support your political beliefs when your mind is closed and your intellectual integrity is wanting.

Yes, the conservatives never take cheap shots. They wouldn't advertise conspiracy theories regarding a sitting president in light of proof to the contrary... oh wait, they flew birther banners over the location of the debate. Well, they'd never take a cheap shot at the wife of the sitting president... oh wait, Palin did that too.

Really Sailormon6, you had a good point regarding the bribery thing relying on innuendo, but trying to make it an attack on liberals is pretty weak. You realise it was Bachmann who raised the issue and got under Perry's skin on the matter right?

I don't condone cheap shots that are taken by either side. But, in this particular thread, our Lib friends are lining up to take cheap shots. I never took a cheap shot in the birther debate, and I never took a cheap shot at the President's wife, and I don't subscribe to unfounded conspiracy theories.

People don't respect cheap shot artists, and I don't like to see you guys demean yourselves by taking cheap shots. I thought ya'll wanted to keep the debate civil!

It's been interesting to read the opinion pieces over on RealClearPolitics since Perry entered the race. I've been noticing a lot of headlines ending in a question mark. To imply something without having to say it.

Leaving things to ones imagination!!
puff puff pass,
And I think if you want to be a politician, you have to submit to an initial and random drug test.

One man's honest reaction is another man's cheap shot. When those words fell from his mouth my honest, and instant, reaction was to remember that old joke.

You may not believe in body language, voice inflection, eye contact, etc. but I do. This guy, Perry, is a great orator. I'm sure he can stir a crowd of followers into a frenzy. He doesn't fool me but he does speak to a lot of people. He'd make a horrible president IMHO. He's what Texans call "All hat and no cattle."

When I heard the exchange my thought was "he can't be bought for five thousand dollars today. He's raised his prices.
But I think the old joke is appropriate too.
