Occupy Wall street - why is no coverage?

Well, I guess I know why there is no coverage, police state is a police state, regardless of rhetoric but still...

Yep, typical police violence against anybody performing civil disobedience. They are allowed to be violent against the masses, but when the masses protest, they mace em, beat em, and then throw them in jail. Welcome to civilization.

I think there is an appropriate amount of coverage for an event where a majority of the protesters don't know what they are protesting, or even want.
rematau- who do YOU call when you need the police?

Police is police, they do what they trained to do. My original post is not about police violence it is about wall of silence. it is breaking here and there, but I hear a lot more about Arab countries uprising than about something happening just a few miles away.

Really? They definitively look better organised and ideologically united than the guys who just took Colonel Qaddafi down.
I'm pretty sure we are witnessing at least a birth of a new party here in US, something to counter balance the Tea Party. But how do I know, there is no coverage

Dude--

If you want to spout BS like that, you're in the wrong place/forum. Take it somewhere else where "idiot-ology", poor English and a painful inability to spell are sure to be appreciated. Like MSNincompoop.

All right. I agree that my English bad, I had to work from my third day in the country. I didn't have time to learn it properly, I apologize for all and every misspelling.
Now, tell what do you know about protests in the middle of Downtown NYC.

The police have been too easy on them.

I've actually seen a fair amount of coverage about it, interviews with some of the protesters, etc. It seems to be a non event involving a small number of people with various chips on their shoulders and no central thread ( a lot of vague anti-capitalism, class warfare, anti-corporation, re-distirbutionist gibberish. IMHO).

Th whole world is watching.

Here is some coverage from The Guardian

Quote:
The protests were a lament for a nation in which, despite the 2008 meltdown, the financial system remains largely unregulated, where 46 million Americans live below the official poverty line, and where inequality is greater now than at any time since 1929. That's hardly the stuff of revolutions: you can read Paul Krugman make a similar point every week in the New York Times. And in the land of the first amendment you'd think it was OK to shout it out in the street, even if that street is Wall Street.

Not according to the two white-shirted senior NYPD officers captured on video. The film shows a small group of women protesters, who are doing nothing menacing at all, having been kettled by police. As they stand there fenced in and defenceless, the two white shirts walk up to them, hold out a pepper-spray canister and zap them straight in the face.

It's the officers' insouciance that is most shocking. They engage the pepper spray as calmly as if they were handing out parking tickets, then turn and just as calmly walk away.
