Occupy Wall Street.. I was there
I didn`t make it to NYC`s Wall Street, but I attended the Pittsburgh Pa rally this past Satruay Oct 15th.
Something is wrong in the USA, didn`t want to sit home and be called a hypocrite so I went down to the demonstration, to get my fair share share of abuse.
Turned out to be a really nice day and a great experience. all the lovely people where do they all come from. +2000 citizens showed up, not one bit of trouble and no arrests. The Police here are worried about thier jobs too,
The occupy pittsburgh rally parade was very co-operative with the police, agreed to stop the march at various intersections to allow traffic to pass.
Traffic..20,000+ people on thier way to tthe UNiv of Pitttsburgh Football game. probably 100,000 sitting on the couch watching TV..
thats a 50 to 1 raio of people who care more about a football game than thier country.., although we did notice that after the football game, many of the students from Pittt`s footballl game wandered into downtown to checkout the Rally. The LIberal Media forgot to count them on the Evening news. 4000 would of sounded better than 2000.
Giving up a day of Diit Biking was worth it to see all the great properly spelled signs. my 2 favorites..
""I will beleive Corporations are people when TEXAS executes one""
""Class Warfare.. yes we the, people are going to fight back"
Very windy day.I should of made a sign to Sail up the big hill.
I didn`t see very many dirty looking hippys, mostly civiilized concerned citizens like myself,, Concerned and worrried about the future of the USA, there was a large group of young adults wearing suits caarrying 2 banners..
""We are not Bums. we are America`s future, Wall Steet INvest in the USA""
""99% of the needy outnumber !% of the Greedy""
I only saw 2 signs with politicians names..
""Ron Paul for President"
""President Obama.. Wish you were here.. the 99%""

Good for you! We had one here that our neighbor attended. She's 80 years old and was very impressed. She said she hadn't seen anything like it since the 60's!
I love how the media is completely slanting the movement - it will be remembered and they will pay for it... Everything comes back around...

Admin note: This is not an official list of demands. This is a forum post submitted by a single user and hyped by irresponsible news/commentary agencies like Fox News and Mises.org. This content was not published by the OccupyWallSt.org collective, nor was it ever proposed or agreed to on a consensus basis with the NYC General Assembly. There is NO official list of demands.

A month in, and nobody yet knows what they actually expect to happen, to fulfill their demands for "economic justice".
I'm not sure why, if they're unemployed, they don't get together and form a business , so they'll have jobs that pay them the kind of wages they think they are entitled to (since they think jobs just magically appear and businesses can pay any wages they want to, regardless of cost). Or, I guess, one can just stand around and whine that nobody's creating a job for you.

It's really not difficult to find out! Statements like yours make me think of this...

It's not a question of WHAT they are protesting, but if they offer no solutions, no path forward, to eliminate WHAT they are protesting, then WHY are they bothering to protest?

Occupy Wall Street is leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders and political persuasions. The one thing we all have in common is that We Are The 99% that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%. We are using the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic to achieve our ends and encourage the use of nonviolence to maximize the safety of all participants.

It's a great piece of prose, but what does it actually say?

I think the best protest is to just walk away from it all if you are able to.

It's not hard to understand...
Did the uprisings in the middle east bring about change?
Did the people that protested put there own leader in power? Or did it just create an environment that was adverse for the powers that be?
It's funny that these type's of protests that were championed by all the politicians here in the US, don't think they are so cool now!
