New York Times Poll on the Republican Primary and Economy - Interactive Feature - NYTimes.com

Some interesting results.

Almost half of the public thinks the sentiment at the root of the Occupy movement generally reflects the views of most Americans.

With nearly all Americans remaining fearful that the economy is stagnating or deteriorating further, two-thirds of the public said that wealth should be distributed more evenly in the country. Seven in 10 Americans think the policies of Congressional Republicans favor the rich. Two-thirds object to tax cuts for corporations and a similar number prefer increasing income taxes on millionaires.

Congressional Republicans are viewed even worse than the president, with 71 percent of the public saying the party does not have a clear plan for creating jobs. And support for several other Republican proposals is more tepid than for Mr. Obama’s initiatives to lift the economy.

Only about a quarter of the public said that lowering taxes on large corporations or repealing the entire national health care law was a good idea. But half of the public favors reducing or repealing regulations on businesses in the United States.

One of our Canadian Prime Ministers, John Diefenbaker, once remarked that dogs knew what to do with polls.

Minor difference - said Canadian Prime Minister's opinion reflected all polls, the right-wing response is more selective.

Wow, I say before you stick your nose in US politics you should get a handle on your own; Dief ( as you call him ) served longer than most of your 22 PM's over the last 144 yrs, there is only a small hand full ( maybe 6 ) that have served longer

5 years 305 days is not a long time, that is slightly longer than the length of time our Parliament can sit without an election.

I'm not going to pretend to understand your politics but, if you're going by days/yrs, there's only two that have more days in sevice @ 4yrs; You have one with more days (359 ) @ 18yrs and the longest serving PM only had 154 days @ 21yrs.

So, I'm not following your spin, not that I really care but,your comments don't match your info.........

Stephen Harper has been Prime Minister for 5 years and 262 days.

King was PM for 21 years and 154 days

We do not have fixed dates for elections.
