Interesting that no one found it untoward to give the answer in the OP that Pelosi gave.

Actually, I think her comment was simply dismissed.
Being Nancy simply doesn't surprise or shock anyone.

You can tout as many spreadsheets, graphs, and "facts" as you like. It doesn't change a thing.
Everything is the SAME, regardless of who has been in office. Globalization is underway and that's the plan. Whether I agree or disagree changes nothing. But you keep being a cheerleader for a "party", they are doing a FABULOUS job!

All should be in agreement that what we have here is a good argument for public financing of elections. Money is not speech and corporations are not persons. Neither are unions.

Everyone is talking about who got how much of the pie but no-one has said anything about the sheer SIZE of the pie. Look at those numbers and what they add up to - it is absolutely INSANE. It would be very interesting to see a comparison to the amount spent above (in time adjusted $), how much your truly great Presidents received and spent on their elections. How much did the Roosevelts each spend? Truman, Ike, Kennedy, Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln?
I am sure in most or all cases it was a tiny fraction of one of the smallest of the listed contributions. Now these insane amounts are spent and all you get is the current and recent crop of midgets.
Are we truly progressing?

what part of "Congress shall pass no law abridging the freedom of speech" is not clear.
Limiting folks ability to gather with like minded folks to express themselves is abridging freedom of speech, whether it's done by a union or a corporation, which are both made up of people.

They can speak all they want, just not give huge sums to "buy" politicians. And by the way, in Unions and Corporations, only the top man has freedom of speech in this context. Just try being an area manager of a large company and donate funds to a party not supported by the Brass..... Can you spell "unemployment" children?
