The Party of Jobs ......

as long as they're union ones.

When asked if the South Carolina Boeing plant should be closed because it's non-union, former House Speaker Pelosi quickly answered Yes!.

Ignore the fact that the workers there voted to decertify their union representation. Ignore the fact that unemployment is over 9%. If they ain't dues-paying (money which finds it's way into Democratic coffers) union members, they don't deserve a job.

Obama designates Fort Monroe a national monument

Quote:
Beyond the historical issues, Obama noted the economic value of Fort Monroe's designation as a national monument. He said local officials have estimated that a plan for reusing the site would help create nearly 3,000 jobs in next-door Virginia. Obama won the commonwealth in 2008 and it may prove crucial to his re-election bid.

"Fort Monroe has played a part in some of the darkest and some of the most heroic moments in American history. But today isn't just about preserving a national landmark. It's about helping to create jobs and grow the local economy," Obama said in a paper statement released earlier Tuesday. "Steps like these won't replace the bold action we need from Congress to get our economy moving and strengthen middle-class families, but they will make a difference."

I'm all for National Landmarks, but cloaking this as a jobs initiative is silly.

I was alluding to the fact that both parties are the same. There is no real difference, they are all bought and paid for by special interests... This rep VS. dem is ludicrous and only serves to keep us divided. Thank god it's getting less traction with the younger generations.

More redistribution, there are approximately 1100 plus military and 2000 plus civilian jobs associated with Ft Monroe currently as an active military base. I am not sure how they plan to employ that many with the designation of a national monument. Oh wait, it will be run by the government. That explains it.

Actually the state and city where Ft Monroe is located have been pushing for the designation ever since BRAC decided to close the base. That way the city does not have to foot the entire bill to maintain the place.

IAM, the decertified union at the SC Boeing plant, gave over 1,000,000 to Dems, 34,000 to Reps. You'll find the same split with most unions, if it's even that close.

What are the comparable figures for CORPORATE contributions? You know - goose, gander?
