It ain't boasting - do some reading. The Avro team that developed the Arrow were the best aeronautical design group in the world at that time - at least on par with the Lockheed skunk works. Actually, since the Arrow outperformed any fighter the skunk works came up with , they were likely better.

Capt Len is on a distinguished road
Damm it sloop, every time I work myself into a lather to make a pithy and well thought out rant , you beat me to it. I'll just point out you didn't mention Pakistan's Candu connection. Back in the day I was on the march to Comox to protest this issue .Jaded, I became. Politics.!! Then I contracted to XXon , JADED. Industry !!!. Then I traveled a bunch. Less jaded but no less pessimistic. Now I operate on the theory that there's lot of women out there but a good boat is hard to find .

I didn't specifically mention it - I just blamed the entire proliferation to unstable countries on the incredible stupidity of the Canadian government selling a Candu to India. That was what started Pakistan et.al. on the train to hell. It was inevitable. I think I was still a teenager at the time and I still knew better than those idiots. It was obvious what would happen.

Can you remember who was Minister of Foreign Affairs at the time? Was it still Mitchell Sharp?
