Why am I not surprised?

According to the latest results from Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind Poll, some news sources make us less likely to know what’s going on in the world. In the most recent study, the poll asked New Jerseyans about current events at home and abroad, and from what sources – if any – they get their information. The conclusion: Sunday morning news shows do the most to help people learn about current events, while some outlets, especially Fox News, lead people to be even less informed than those who they don’t watch any news at all. SBS-but with a margin of error of +/- 3.5% and only one or two questions supporting the obvious goal of the poll (to discredit Fox) it seems to be an enormous generalization that they are claiming. The very few total number of questions asked also makes me wonder if they weren't hand picked to favor the desired outcome. Full disclosure: I don't watch TV, and get my news from a widely diverse list of sources.

I've said this before but as a furriner who spends a lot of time in the States, I find you are extremely poorly served by your media (not to mention your education system) vis a vis what is going on in the rest of the world.
Whenever we return from more than a week or two we are amazed by what we have missed.
You deserve and certainly pay for better.

“The man who reads nothing at all is better educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers.”
― Thomas Jefferson
If Mr. Jefferson were to freak us all out and come back to life tomorrow, I'd like to think that he would amend his quote to something along the lines of, "The man who watches no TV at all is better educated then the man who watches nothing but TV news". Or maybe, "Don't be an idiot and get your news from the MSM".

Yep, fear is the dominating force in this country. If we aren't fearing another country or our economy, then we'll find something else to fear... You name it, we can be scared by it! Land of the Brave, hehehe - sad indeed...

Those who listen to talk radio are the most likely to answer the question correctly. People who tune in to that generally conservative format are 17-points more likely to say that Herman Cain is at the top, and 15 points more likely to be able to name either of the leaders.

There ya go! This incontrovertible poll proves that the audiences of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Laura Ingraham, et al, are much better informed than most with respect to public affairs. If you libs will tune in to Rush, he'll set your thinking aright. ehehehehehehe

The Human species most essential motivators are fear and greed so it would indicate that your society has been the most effective at enabling personal actualization.

I thought it said Sunday morning shows had the best informed audience. ???
And the last I heard, Newt was now in the lead.
