Oh please. Like these guys wouldn't be first in line to toot their own horn if they were already contributing to what they see as the problem. This is a political stunt just as sure as the gal with the microphone. And while we'll never know whether they already send in extra cash (and I'll bet you a benjamin that none of the interviewees did. Find some proof that they did and I'll put it in the mail.) I would be shocked if you didn't find most or all of their names on democratic donor lists.

Bottom line for these guys is that they are supporting a pet project for their favorite politician, and will be eagerly awaiting their return on investment. Warren Buffet is with them in calling for higher taxes on the rich, while at the same time in a legal battle with the IRS to avoid paying 1 Billion in back taxes. So which is it? Does he want higher taxes on the rich, or does he want to pay the lowest tax possible? Perhaps he just wants the other millionaires to pay more taxes.

John

Are you sure about this?

The issue is that our congress already spent $15 Trillion more than they authorized taxes for. Also, almost all of the National debt was accumulated since 2000. Look it up... And now Republicans want to shift the tax burden to pay this monster debt off from one economic strata to another.

Since 1980 the average man's inflation adjusted income has fallen while at the same time the upper strata's income has tripled.

What I find most interesting is that it's the middle class who elected these Republican Congressmen and Senators. All polls, no matter who commissioned them show overwhelming support for the wealthy paying more. This is what the people want. Yet our democratic system is being trashed as Republicans thumb their noses at the very folks who elected them to office and are prepared to act directly against their wishes and their best interest in order to support their corporate benefactors..

Democracy in action? ....not... it's plutocracy. Look it up. This is what you are arguing for and why I ask.... are you sure this is where you want to take a stand? Announcing the end of our Republic?

Democracy in action? ....not... it's fascism. Look it up.

This is what you are arguing for.
You're right, most of our national debt has been accumulated since 2000. From 2000 through 2006, under republican congress and senate, with 2 wars going on, the debt increased 2.6 Trillion. Way, Way too much. In 2006 Democrats took control of the house and senate. Since 2006 we have accumulated 6.7 Trillion more. Do you really want to blame Republicans for this?

Talk about politicians going against the will of the people. How about Obamacare? One of the most despised pieces of legislation ever concocted. When democrats figured out that they couldn't ram it through regular channels because the Democratic stronghold of Massachusetts elected a Republican specifically to defeat it, they used trickery to get it done. And all Republicans are doing is refusing to raise taxes.

I'm not trying to say that republicans are in any way innocent. They're not. They all have their corporate masters, and that's something that must change. Those guys in the video are just trying to become the next set of corporate masters. Just because they come under the pretense of a liberal talking point, don't let your prejudices blind you to their real intent.

The problem with OWS is that their anger is misdirected. If politicians weren't for sale, then the 1% would have nothing to gain from them. Don't you think our politicians should be held to a higher standard than a corporate ceo? Instead of protesting the fact that our politicians are for sale, the OWS crowd is mad at the people who bought them. Both are guilty, so OWS wants to punish corporations and give more power to the people who sold themselves. Doesn't make sense to me.

Your analogy is backward. It would be like arresting the whore and letting the john go. Neither party is innocent, but at least whores don't have a day job as nuns.
