Nothing new here. I remember when I was a kid we had a right wing provincial government - Social Credit - where this kind of thing happened all the time. The Highways Minister and his sons had the most remarkable clairvoyance when it came to buying land where highways were subsequently built. They ended up with a hotel empire.
Back in the 90's the left wing Premier had to resign over a financial scandal where his party organization was fraudulently ripping off a charity bingo - had been going on for years.
I also have had little trust for ANYTHING 60 minutes broadcasts ever since their phony "Unintended acceleration" fraud they perpetrated against Audi back in the 80's - they almost bankrupted Audi with pure B.S. "reports".
Politicians first, second and third loyalties are to THEMSELVES. They sell their souls very quickly once they get deep in the system.
