I loved seeing that ad. Really made me proud to own a dodge. Go Dodge, go Detroit, go UAW, go Obama!
Union proud!

The people of Detroit know a little something about this. They almost lost everything. But we all pulled together, now Motor City is fighting again. - ad transcript
|
Of course that has nothing to do with the government intervention.

Nope, but it has everything to do with the workers major concessions in wages and benefits to keep dodge and the rest of the big 3 in business.

Good for you marcusc. Everybody should believe in something ... whether I agree with them or not.
Concession, as they were, were a component of having the government intervene.

Still waiting for where it draws attention to government intervention rather than state that the people pulled together for this to occur. At best, this is pretending the bailout didn't occur, not giving Obama kudos for having signed off on it.
Bene505, here's an example of the one-eyed partisan perspective we're talking about. A statement about people pulling together actually means government intervention. Of course, PBzeer has a habit of reading more into what people say than is actually said, so I guess we shouldn't be surprised.

Sure BS. Nobody is aware of the bailouts. Nobody knows anything about the bailouts. And of course, Obama never talks about how he saved Detroit with the bailouts. There's no reason at all to connect the dots.
Let me make one thing clear. I have no problem with Chrysler making and airing the ad. That's their prerogative. It wouldn't even bother me if it was blatantly political. In fact, it would bother me less if it was.
If you want to believe it's mere coincidence that the transcript so closely mirrors Obama's talking points, that's all well and good. You're entitled to your opinion, just as I'm entitled to mine.

Sure there is a reason. The reason being you are looking for yet another daily snipe at the Obama administration. That's kind of the point in case the explicit detailing of said point as slipped you by.
Conspiracy theorists and nut-jobs of all forms see unrelated circumstances as dots to be joined - no-one needs to give them any credence though. You have derided others for joining dots only they can see making a larger pattern, this is simply the same happening when you do it.

No doubt. If it was blatantly political, instead of the general feel-good, inspirational "our cars are good for America" advertisement - you'd actually have something legitimate to cr@p on about as opposed to getting hammered for your over the top partisan perspective.

Never said you weren't entitled to your opinion, PBzeer.
My opinion (seemingly shared, at least partially, by others) is that you are so obviously obsessed with finding something to complain about &/or trash Obama with that you will post even the most ridiculously cynical insinuations for the daily whinge. Just as you are entitled to your opinion and posting it here - I am entitled to do the same

Want to point out where they made that claim? Or are we to take that as implied?

Nope, if it bothers you, you can ignore it. My argument still holds with or without it.
I guess we're into the nitpicking stage of your sniping threads.

Th few forums i check while on the Internet all seem to be covering the same subjects..
All the Union guys and Democrats now like Mr. Eastwood..??
The Republicans, Union Haters, and 2nd Admendment Enthusiast seem unhappy that Clint Eastwood is speaking for the Country, the American Automobile Industry and suggesting its half tiime for Obama..
Clint Eastwood in Chrysler's "Halftime in America" ad.
Did the first Obama re-election ad run during the Super Bowl? You might have missed it since the president wasn't even mentioned. It was a Chrysler ad, although even that wasn’t obvious. Instead, more than 111 million viewers were greeted by that tough-talking American icon Clint Eastwood as he delivered what amounted to a locker room speech to the country. “It's halftime in America,” he intoned,
He heralded the auto industry’s revival and said it is a model for a nation poised for a comeback. By the end of the stirring message, pollsters could probably have found a majority of the country ready to elect the city of Detroit president.
