Looking for SQUARE/RECTANGULAR, METAL, food storage

Wondering if anyone knows of anything larger than a 'bento box'

--square/rectangular;
--metal (doesn't have to be stainless)
--bulk food storage

Have searched Amazon and eBay and I either find round or small. Used to, one could get biscuit in tins in the US, but I've not seen that in years.

While I honestly appreciate effort, please don't waste your time and mine suggesting anything that doesn't fit the above parameters. I know there are plastic containers, and I know there are cylindrical-shaped tins.

thanks in advance

.50 cal ammo boxes - best metal storage container I can think of. You need to pack your food into plastic bags as this is obviously not a food grade container.

You can still get the biscuits in that big tin down here on any of the British islands. If nothing else, it's a good excuse for a few days off to sail to the Caribbean.

This isn't square, metal, or food-safe, but would it work?

damn, and here I thought I was getting AWAY from CF...

denise, you really don't savvy, honey.... You should have directed me thus: Let me google that for you

I did google, and there is a site: 'Life without Plastic,' of course it's out of stock. Googling from the US doesn't seem to search foreign sites, thus my question...

Re: Looking for SQUARE/RECTANGULAR, METAL, food storage

Please reread my first post, Denise (re: amazon (and ebay)).

My 'search-fu' may not be very good, but I have tried to search before I asked. In fact, I always try to search the 'Net and in forums before I ask anything in a forum, I think it's the thing to do. There generally ain't nothin' new under the sun. That, and one gets results like Minnesail's (I think his was sarcastic, but that isn't generally the case)

I suppose what I hoped for here was another search term that gets better results, or someone from outside the US might have a source. Sigh.

As of yesterday, I am no longer at CF, fwiw... that place is, frankly... toxic. I live in hope that this forum is not like that.

Re: Looking for SQUARE/RECTANGULAR, METAL, food storage

how much of a product are you expecting to store in these containers? as in, how big are you looking for?

I got a few OXO food storage containers that have been working well so far. A bit on the pricey side but they do seem to stay sealed up nice.

May I ask why the aversion to plastic? Just curious.
