Yeah... Havana Club Reserve by the bottle should cost less than $15US... I'm guessing they do a great business suckering rich tourists into buying something "forbidden" back home.

The cheapest rum prices I have found in the Carib seem to be St. Maarten. I found even Jamaica rum there to be cheaper than in Jamaica. Sounds strange but there you go.

Re: Rum enjoyment

Captain Morgan's Private Stock. Chilled it makes a great sipping rum.

Re: Rum enjoyment

I was a Gosling's fanatic, however, I've been drinking Sailor Jerry for a couple of years now. Fantastic stuff.

I tried that Kraken stuff, love the label and bottle, but I think the rum is shite.

Re: Rum enjoyment

SJ is the official Dock rum. After numerous taste tests early last season, the sailors converted the power boaters, who quietly removed the Bacardi and Capt. Morgan and Malibu bottles from their booze lockers, replacing them with the label with the tatt on the back.

Re: Rum enjoyment

Still Mount Gay, but now I have Extra Old and Black. I've also been enjoying Folly Cove, Gosling's Gold, and a bottle of Pusser's bought in St Maarten for $10!
