Maybe. Personally, I go 50/50/50.

Did someone suggest bitters? Ugh. It's like I'm back in central Texas - Bacardi and fake ginger beer. Don't bother.

I don't know if I've ever tried Barritts, but I don't like my Dark & Stormies too sweet. I always go for Reeds Extra Ginger Beer with Mount Gay. I like the spicy.

50/50 here. And a little more if its a rum n' coke.
D&S are a fantastic way to celebrate a race win!

Only 50/50.... too much GBeer would be a sin!

I'll confess to 60/40 over ice, and then squeeze 1/4 lime in the glass... (I'll leave it to your imagination which is 60, and which is 40 )

On the Ginger Beer front; Barritts is/was imported into the US by the same company that imported Goslings Bermuda Rum. (I had a email exchange with their distribution sales manager for New England on another topic).

Lateley, I have noticed that Goslings Ginger Beer seems to be displacing Barritts in retail outlets throughout the US. Interesting to note that Goslings Ginger Beer is bottled by Polar Beverages.

Has anyone out there done a head to head taste test of Barritts Ginger Beer vs Goslings Ginger Beer? ...

I haven't found either, but I use Natural Brew Outrageous Ginger Ale. Good stuff, strong, Jamaican ginger bits floating in it.

This is your Bermuda correspondant checking in

Nobody that I know of bothers with the Goslings stuff here in fact I'm not even sure where I'd get any ... maybe the Goslings store I guess. Anyway, stick with the Barritts.

I'd stick with Barritts also except that I never have been able to find any here in the NOVA area. We tried a variety of poor substitutes before Goslings came out with their own which is readily available and so close to Barritts as to be indistinquishable for me.

So Goslings is a great substitute for those that can't find Barritts.

Anyone else use Cruzan Black Strap rum in theirs? I prefer its richer flavor.
