Marine stoves/ovens.

Are marine grade ovens self-cleaning? Descriptions I have read say "easy to clean"? Is there a special or correct way to clean these? I''m new to this, thanks.
Dave.

Dave, the self-cleaning "function" on marine ovens refers to you or the mate, not the stove.

We''ve had two Force 10 stainless lined ovens aboard our last 2 boats and, after 8 years of full-time use, they both looked new after the last meal. Regular cleaning with a good mix of products is the key. On WHOOSH we use a commercial metal cleaner used by building maintenance firms - Easy Dab. Super cheap ($6/qt), very effective, easy to use.

Self cleaning marine ovens? I''m just getting my old alcohol oven back to working condition. I guess I''m behind the curve here.
