Provisioning

Hi,

My husband and I are taking a year or so off to sail around the Caribbean (windward and leeward islands). Would anyone happen to have any information on grocery shopping on any of these islands? Also, any advice on fishing?

As one who hails from the best island of the Caribbean island chain, Barbados [am I proud or what] I would suggest buying supplies at the supermarkets found on all of the main islands. Usually local foodstuffs are cheaper but sometimes the quality is lacking, you will be amazed at the price of imported foods, but this will vary from island to island due to the different import duties etc. Milk will not last as long, fruits and vegs. might be cheaper at roadside vendors.
