After drooling for a whole lotta years I've finally acquired a CE Ryder Quickstep 24—Hull #108. I hate to see that the boat has never been discussed in the forums (even given the Sailnet antics toward the old mailing list). Widget wants little more than some TLC—with the forward hatch being the outstanding wart on a hull that's otherwise excellent. It's a Vetus hatch, with broken hinges & lexan/plastic that is sufficiently crackled/scratched & dinged as to be screaming out for repair/replacement. Anyone tried to find parts for a 20-odd-year-old hatch? Or suggestions for replacements? I note that, ugly as it is, it doesn't leak a drop.
Also, how about that cove stripe? Suggestions on how to remove the now mostly white tape (mylar?) & replacement options? Anything would be helpful. And it would give us another post!

I tried everything to get the existing cove stripe off. Your'e best bet is to just go down to your'e local auto VIP and buy 50ft" of silver 1/2 in tape and go over the existing tape. Nobody will know, and I won't tell anyone. As for the hatch, where are you from? Have you checked the internet For Vetus? Or someone that bought them out.
