Another New S2 on the water

All:

I have created a web site about my 1978 S2 8.0. Since I haven't posted sufficient messages to enable embedded HTML on sailnet, you'll have to cut and paste:

web.mac.com/overholtzer

The site will give me a place to hold all the various pieces of info about the boat, and to share our experiences.

The boat came with complete set of manuals AND a full 8.0 brochure. I plan on posting them to the web site soon.

Bret,

Great website! I saved it on my favorite places. I have the maintainence manual for the Zephyer Saildrive if you want it, it could help others as much as it helped me (if you want to post it on your website,) it is a rather heavy file, too much for email, I will need to mail it to you (no charge of course). Shoot me a private message if your interested and let me know where to send it. The manual has all the part numbers for the engine that have proved valuable for me and most of the parts are available. I had to replace everything in the fuel department as well. I just sailed my S2 8.0B 43 miles home from the place I bought her, (after a year of re-fitting). This boat is the best one I've ever sailed.

Dorourke:

Thanks for the offer of the saildrive manual. I think I have what is available for the Zephyr in pdf format - the parts list (8 pages or so) and the users guide (telling how to start it, etc.).

If you have something beyond those two items, I am definitely interested!

I'm planning on putting up anything on the web site I can get on the 8.0. I have the original sales brochure and the original manual and binder (in mint condition!), plus operating instructions on the stove and saildrive.

Bret,

This is the mechanics maintainence manual and not the parts list, it gives torque specs and electrical info as well as trouble shooting ect. I'll try to zip it up first and try email it to myself to see if it will go through. I'll get back to you.

Kansas is S2 strong.

Hey Bret,
I really like your site. I've done some cat sailing on Perry. I have always had a good time sailing there with the "Hulls Angels". The boat looks fantastic. I still have a great deal of interior work to do on mine, but the sailing is great here at Cheney. It's somehow comforting to know there is another 8.0 so close.

Hey Peyton. Got your pics of your boat, good jopb with it and well done.

Bret,

I will contact you about the maintainence manual, I also have all the parts manuals for all the models of Zypher saildrives if you would like to publish them on the web site. I also have a 1983 brochure in pdf format. I'll contact you. Just like Peyton, I have a boat that has sat on the hard for about twentyfive years till I found her, your website will help me alot.

More documents on the Implied Consent web page

Peyton and DoRourke:

Thanks for the feedback...I have updated the web site and added a DOCUMENTS section. I added various brochures and manuals that you may find interesting and/or useful.

Send me anything that you think should be up on the web site.

Peyton, too bad you are not at Perry, there are at least 3 (including my Implied Consent) S2 8.0s on the lake. One is a 1983 that looks great on the outside, but had water damage to the interior...it's a project boat. The other is 3 slips down from me and looks really good on the outside. I haven't met the owner, but it is all tricked out with serious rigging ( lazy jacks and boomkicker, for instance).
