7.3 Information

I am looking for information on the 7.3 S2. I have found one in my state that I am interested in. I posted a similar question in the Boat Purchase & Review forum but I am hoping for some detailed information here. It has an OMC SailDrive. Is that a problem? The boat is a 1982 model year and has seen only fresh water. I am having dificulty finding any info on the net in regards to interior space or even an owners manual. How big is the v-berth? I would like to get some questions asnwered here before I contact the owner as it is about a 3 hour drive to go look at the boat. Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up 7.3 Owner's Manual (pdf) on the Yahoo S2 Site

You will be required to register for the group.
It is the 12th file down on the "Files" page.

Hard to say...try the Saildrive Owners group

Quote<< It has an OMC SailDrive. Is that a problem?>>

Hard to say...but one of these 524 members could probably give you a pretty good answer. Some VERY knowledgeable folks over there on this topic.

saildriveowners : Saildrive Owners Group

Sorry about the multiple references to these other groups, but it likely the most efficient way for you to get the answers you need.

i am very satisfied with my 7.3.... it has Saildrive... runs like a champ... keeping the cooling water intake free and flowing is the most frustrating part of the engine... it really moves the boat well though - doesn't come out of the water in waves like the outboards do.. the furler needs to go - i am looking to go to a hanked on jib system in lieu of the sagging furling system. i have not found a way to tension the forestay because the furler covers the wire. IOR boat... you'll experience weather helm when the wind blows - reef the main first to restore balance. i sleep aboard at anchor on regular basis, very comfortable. trailers fairly well.
