Re: Bob Perry's Carbon Cutters

My pleasure you guys. I missed one week at the yard. I was down with a bad cold and too lethargic to make the drive. But God willin' and the creek don't rise I'll be up there each Wednesday and taking pics. There have been a couple of visits where I got busy with the new powerboat project and I did not take photos.

Met with a few of my old friends in La Conner for cocktails and lunch.

Is the 'homage to Bill Garden' deliberate or just in my imagination?

Re the cutters - I'm constantly amazed at the tidiness and care taken during the whole process.

No "homage" to anyone. But I see your point.
Consider this:
I met Bill when I was 15 years old. I studied his work for years. Still do. I sailed with Bill. I hung out in Bill's office. I visited Bill several times on his Island. I continued a correspondence with Bill almost to the time he died. We were friends.

There is nothing that I have designed that does not show some degree of influence of Bill Garden's work.

Re: Bob Perry's Carbon Cutters

Went to the yard yesterday. Here are some snaps for you. I think they are self explanatory but ask away if you have questions.
The big alu bracket is for the large alternator that will be driven off the PTO with a short jack shaft along with a few other ancillary mechanical/electrical components. Both engine and bracket will be mounted on flexible mounts.

Mock up rudder is for aligning the gudgeons.

Rectangle piece being vacuum bagged on the heated table is one of the carbon dining table drop leaves.
