TDW, why can't you just trim the legs down to lower it? I know you don't have a centreboard under there...

No legs H. The damn thing is cantilevered off the mast support. It's height was also set so that the bilge hatch covers could be opened without difficulty. Everything was really well thought out except for the height of the table in relation to the seat height. Made the same bloody mistake with the cockpit table and for much the same reasons I think, ie locker access. Have to fix them both somehow.

Then again, maybe I'll just leave it as is, rip off the keel and install a centreboard.

Maybe the PO was really tall!

One thing I've learnt over a few boats now is that nothing is impossible to change - it just depends how badly you want to do it. Smaller hatches maybe?? Then again, maybe not...

Hey, now that's a great idea - it'd get you further up the Hawkesbury and closer to the beach!

I love mine..

It's a center line on a CS-36. I guess on the CS-34 it's a little tight...

Love mine on the Gemini - of course it's apples and oranges with ya'll - folds down to an actual honest to god queen sized bed (and another queen in the master cabin). Not bad considering the boat is in a normal sized slip:

Do you consider a 14 ft beam to be "normal size" chuckles? I'd hate to be your slipmate.

You might be correct mate . After all the Hawesbury River Rail bridge will have reduced my mast to an acceptable height so all will be sweet.

Shite, no keel , no mast, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm turning into a stinker.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

And that's why I said the Gemini fits into a slip for a 42' boat...
