Do you hate your Main Salon Table?

What would you do (have done) to improve it?

Mine is the shape needed to fill the bunk space when it's down so the cushions can make a almost double bed. It's way too much like a camper And the Garelick telescoping table post is too low at it's highest. Then the mast comes down next to the end of the setee. my Oday 30 the setee is around the table. Like a big squared off "D" open on the port/center side. It doesn't reach over the center far enough to use from the port bench seat/bunk. Some Odays had the traditional swing down table I think. I really like those salon tables you see for sale in high end catalogs.

My boat had a bolted down, centerline table, that had been removed by a previous owner. He had installed a swing table, suitable for one person, to the mast. I found the arrangement precarious, and needing redesigning to be usable. Instead, I merely leave the swing out latched to the bulkhead and use it as a shelf. I bought a heavy duty TV type folding table at Walmart for $20 that I use as a table, and which can easily be placed out of the way, while under weigh. I find this opens up the salon area quite a bit, and am quite happy with the arrangement. Had I a need for a larger area, I would simply purchase a piece of plywood, put some fiddles on the bottom that fit the folding table, and use that.

I have a centerline that I hate dockside. I will sit there and stare at it with a menace and a scowl. I think it knows how much I want to rip it out. But, when I am out in the rollers and I go below, I love it to death. A love/hate relationship. Typical for a boat, eh? The forward part of the table is too close to the settee, so that part may be cut off, just for easier access to the settee and the forward V berth. Its a Canadian Sailcraft CS34

Giu, fiddles are the raised part around the counter top, table, and nav station. See above photo. The part that keeps stuff from rolling off. What do you call it there?

No, we like it. Seats four adults easily, or six munchkins. It disappears under the v-berth when not in use, and locks to the compression post when extended (Pacific Seacraft Crealock 31 interior) :

The only ones I really like are those that fold up against the bulkhead, the others just get in the way when you don't need it. Unfortunately I mounted the TV there. Priorities? On the other hand we get a lot more use out of the cockpit table.
