Cool The new cushions are ready!

Let me know what do you think of my first time DIY cushions...

Bow area...

Bow to seating...

Cockpit cushions and backrests...

Thank you wchevron,
I used vinyl bottoms and sunbrella tops for cabin and phifertex bottoms and sunbrella tops for cockpit...
Sunbrella is a bit over the top for cabin but I had a good deal on the roll (16 yards for 40$) and didn't want to deal with different fabric colors and patterns...
Cabin foams are poly and cockpit are close cell...

I'd like to give a quick tip; don't throw away cut out pieces, you can use them for making sheet bags, chartbook bags, throw pillows for the boat, or chaffe guard covers... (At least, you'll have a color or pattern scheme all over the boat)
Afterall, the two triangular pieces you'd see next to bow berth cushion and the back rests for cockpit were cut out pieces from the project...

Thanks Sailingdog,
I used close cell for cockpit and polyurethane foam for cabin, yet I need to buy some more polyurethane foam to fill v-berth cushion.

Mertton,

Good job by the looks of it , well done, but one question.

Did you make allowance for breathing ? With that much vinyl you might find that when you plonk yourself down the air inside the cushions won't escape. You can get little plastic air vents that insert into e.g the back or zipper edge border of the cusions and this solves that problem.

OTOH, the sunbrella does breath a bit so you might not have a problem but it would be better to find out before you stuff the inserts into the covers.

Cheers

Gui's dressing in drag again??? No seamstress or tailor, no matter how talented, can achieve what you ask. It defies the laws of physics.

Thank you,
I actually did left breathing allowance, unintentionally that is, , my first time cushion building have about 1/2" openings where the zipper ends which has the plastic areas. Though I sew around them (by hand, ouch! BTW) to secure zippers for opening all the way out, there are openings at each end... I triple bent the fabric so water shouldn't penetrate easily in case if I have leak.
I know, I should have bought a industrial sewing machine but, I don't have space or the budget for it...

I'm learning... You should see the first attempt... It was a disaster, yet became a good little bag, once I figured the tricks

But it's good to hear that you guys think that I did a good job for a first timer... Next first timer attempt will be the repairing the rotted core That'll be fun? Right?
