Bristol 27 Interior Liner
Greetings, I have been reader of sailnet for over a year but have only joined today. Great site, great wealth of information. I have a question for any members that may be Bristol 27 owners. I am shopping for my first sailboat and was looking over a 1978 B27 Cruiser model today and noticed that the nice factory installed liner started from the companion way entrance but ended at the bulkhead wall that seperates the saloon from the head and hanging locker area. The overhead finish of the head, locker, and forward v berth was rough fiberglass. It was white which was the colour of the deck but almost had a rough stucco effect look to it. Am I mistaken or should the interior liner not go all the way through the of the cabin from aft companion way to forward v berth? Can any B27 owners tell me what their interiors are like? Thanks...

Checkout this little group...

BristolYachts : Bristol Yachts

They seem to cover everything related to the Bristol Yachts.

I have a '68 Bristol with a liner which ends at the saloon forward bulkhead as you describe. Yes, the rest of the interior is painted fiberglass which was never faired or improved upon beyond the laying up stage. I believe this is fairly normal for the cruising model. The dinette and weekender models may have different headliners since their interior is quite a bit different.

I've had a great time sailing my B27 and feel they are a great boat, and for the money an excellent value.

The bristol email list accessible through the quick links header at the top of the page is quite a nice resource for direct Bristol questions.

Thanks very much for the info. Fearing the worst I was afraid that the liner had been removed sometime in the past to accomodate repairs which would have steered me clear of this particular boat. It sounds as though it is not an unusual appearance for this model.
Thanks and Best Regards,
