Fiberglass/Gelcoat Damage?

A few days ago I posted under the maintenance section about a boat 26' Seafarer Meridian we are considering purchasing which has some yellow flaking centerline on the bow. This is a first boat-- a bit of a project. Most of the work I can identify, but I am not sure what is going on with the flaking. My guess is it is from rubbing on a dock. I have posted photos of the area in question in the photo gallery. I'd appreciate any comments, thoughts or suggestions. Thanks

If I'm not mistaken Seafarer was made by SeaRay... Sailnet people are not a big fan of power boat companies making sailboats...
It can be from point damage, water intrusion, previously unpreofessionaly installed hardware...
I'll check out the pics, if i can find them
Take care
