Nor'Sea is most well known for the Lyle Hess designed 27', but I believe that they made a 37' also.

They are a very nice boat and quite expensive. I don't know what they go for new anymore but I didn't pay anywhere near that for mine. I'm the third owner of a '77

We had a 34' North Sea pilothouse, they were built in BC in the late 70's and early 80's. I have also heard of another 34' called a North Sea and I think it is a ketch.

Back in the 70's, I went to the Nor'Sea plant, since I was batting around the idea of buying one.

I was impressed by my tour. The guys built an impressive, strong hull. They didn't skimp or cut any corners. The hulls were truly hand laid up, and each layer was carefully and thoroughly squeegeed, which make the laminate strong.

Those boats were expensive even then, built like brick outhouses, and pretty to look at. It doesn't surprise me they still draw premium prices.

I met and talked to several owners who had taken their little 27 footers and prowled the Pacific in them. There are lots of articles about the boats in the old, original 'Pacific Sailor' (cruising world) magazines if you happen to know a genuine packrat who has them.
