My 9yo son designed a sweet Open 60 water bottle pontoon. It was screaming across the pool.

Not sure what the rig is - but the dual rudders were sheer brilliance!

What have your kids designed?

Looks like a design that will appeal to the cruising set. One question: why does a skull need an eye patch? ;-)

It's actually a "socket patch". All the young skulls are wearing them these days.

I think the mouth is a section of the NYTimes crossword puzzle.

Our club has a competition every Shakedown cruise (first of the season) and we've done the same during our flotilla cruises where young and old alike get into the game!

That is so cool Faster! Seriously, that's what it's all about.

I think that's how you really get kids interested in sailing. I hope so anyway.

So how does that baby perform in upwind sea trials??

It's a 23KSB down wind. Upwind, it goes backwards at 20 knots. We're still working on the trim.

Now I am obligated to go to Faster's threads and give them some love. Man, this is a lot of work!

Dang that looks like fun! I use to make small wood kayaks and small rapids to see how the boat would handle in a certain rapid. But making a sailboat and racing them well that just looks fun..
