Looking for info on Jeanneau Sunrise 34
I'm in the middle of a purchase of a 1988 Jeanneau Sunrise 34 with the deep keel. We will be doing the pre-purchase survey soon. I was hoping someone here had experience with this boat and could help point out if this boat line/vintage was susceptible to anything in particular that would be good to look for. Was Jeanneau building good boats in that era?
It's hard to find much info on this model in North America. This model does not seem to have captured the heart and soul of North American sailors. I don't know why. The boat is very nice inside and seems to be both well built and seems like it will be seaworthy.
With that said, I'd appreciate any opinions that are out there.
Mid 80's re not bad models. But with that, here are two links you can find info

While I do not have a sunrise, HERE is a review of my 85 Arcadia.
Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post.
Nice boat you have there. I had seen that article while I was doing my boat search. At one time we were considering some 30 footers and I looked into the Arcadia and the Beneteau First 305.
We opted to go bigger and the Sunrise seems to be the boat for us. We do beer can racing and we want to do some coastal cruising with brief offshore runs to get to some of our cruising destinations.
Thanks for all the links. I had come across all of them and I posted a duplicate query on the Jeanneau owner's site looking for input from other Sunrise owners. So far no takers there either.
Thanks again for your help.
Do not be surprised if the owners forum is slow getting responses. There are way way way less hits there than here for obvious reasons.
You may want to try the actual owners list and email some on the list. Do not be surprised if some of the emails work and do not work too. Not sure what part of the world, or should I say NA you are, but there are some of the older rigs here and there!
