New join restrictions

I am in the Philippines and boat shopping. I tried to start a post in seller/buyer forum but was told in a message I was not allowed but could PM Staff only.there was a short list but I was only able to send to one addressee.

Why am I not allowed to start a new thread to ask about a boat I am considering. the boat in question is an S2 36 ft. Reportedly sailed here from the U.S.
Is this truly a blue water boat or was the crew just lucky to make it here?

I will value opinions of those more experienced than myself

Best Regards

Re: Can SailNet be viewed "wide screen" ?

DanO.. the buyers/sellers forum is essentially a 'for sale' bulletin board for long term contributing members... as a new join you don't qualify. But there's nothing stopping you from posting in the Boat Review and Purchase forum.

You will be able to PM other members after your post count is up to 10 or so.. all this is standard forum anti-spammer protocol.
