Repairing Traveller Track ?'s

Many years of gybing through wind gusts is starting to take a toll on my transom mounted traveller track and it is starting to show some stress fractures. My temporary fix is using JB Weld in the stressed areas (and taking it a little easy on gybes).

Is removing the track and spot welding this area post-season is the way to go for repair and use as a backup? I ordered a replacement track- should I have it professionally shaped? And lastly- are there ways to "beef up" an existing traveller track "bridge" section?

Ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.
