As you may be aware, that website is not running. It also has a history of being a problem with numerous other forums; if your not aware of that, you should be.

Alter it by following the instructions here.

I guess the next question is why the heck you have that many (total of 5229) lines of code on your opening page?
Good catch.

The bloatware is likely the result of a WYSIWYG editor. A real html coder would not have the patience to deal with that.

I learned HTML about 1990 on Notepad. All text based stuff.

Re: Slow, slow, slow and menu not responding

Admin--

I (used to) check your site from time to time during the day between other tasks. Because of the load-time, however, doing so wastes too much time and I am abandoning the effort. Please advise me via my contact information as/when/if you resolve the matter. Until then, adios...

Re: Slow, slow, slow and menu not responding

There is still something wrong for sure. While a page appears, it takes forever to flip down to the last read post and the menu for things like New Posts on top don't work for at least a minute. Same on both a PC and Ipad.

What's the problem? Its been days........

attacks from chinese ip addresses slowed down site yesterday morning.

unable to duplicate any slowness.

That means either your host needs changing, or there is some serious issues with the scripts your running. It is a consistent, not one time problem so the questions one wonders why is it not addressed.

Sailnet is not the only one who uses the various ad servers, so although they may contribute to the issue, they are not the sole source of them.

I know I am not the only one, so why is the issue not addressed?

as an fyi 98% of all websites are not interactive forums that are database driven so comparing sailnet to all other websites is unfair comparison. 2.8 seconds for an interactive forum site is very good.

That's weird...cause I am using IE and am unable to duplicate slowness anwhere else BUT This Forum..

I'd be happy with 3 second loading...right now this site is 30-40-50 seconds a page...

Re: Slow, slow, slow and menu not responding

The New Posts button work work for up to a minute after a page loads and it won't scroll down to last unread when it loads either.

Both Safari on an IPad and Firefox on a PC.
