Amazing advances in the technology, eh?

These little time delays are annoying, but much better than the days of my 5600k modem. My first was a 300 baud modem with which I could connect to Compuserve.
Yes, I was amazed at the upgrade my 1200 baud modem was from 300. Compuserve was my first attempt at booking a flight back in 1994. Edmonton-Kelowna, should be easy, right?

Not on the old Sabre system. I booked my flight, paid, and the tickets arrived overnight the next day. To my horror the Edmonton-Kelowna portion was fine, but for some inexplicable reason my return was routed Kelowna-Vancouver-Calgary-Edmonton, and it was going to cost me a small fortune to change it.

I was glad to see Expedia and it's competitors arrive on the scene. Things are sooo much easier now.

Funny thing, my son works for a telecommunications company. His ringtone on his cell is the old modem handshake sounds. I almost flipped when I first heard it; it's been many years!

Actually, the issue was widespread. I use primarily Chrome, but occasionally FF also, running on Ubuntu 11.10, as opposed to any variety of Windoze (not sure why anyone even uses that piece of junk OS )

We all get to be software/OS snobs here. It's been rumored that there may even be some sailboat manufacturer snobs on sailnet.com.

Maybe the site should carry a disclaimer for those that choose to use IE. "This site may not work if you use IE.". Yeah, that's awesome.

NO, it didn't. I use FF and was one of thise who reported the problem above.

This was NOT strictly an IE issue. Works now though.

Jeanneau 54DS

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.
