Ford Lehman 120 Tachometer Connection

My tachometer has stopped working when the engine is running although it responds when I turn the ignition key. I had a flood in the bilge and need to locate where the tach is connected to the engine to investigate if that connection is corroded. I have yet to locate where that connection may be. Any suggestions?

The tach takes off the alternator on the FL120. Your post doesn't make sense. How can it respond when you turn the key if the engine is not running? Chuck

You are in the wrong forum to ask this question.
Go to the Gear and maintenance forum, diesel engine sub forum and ask.

What I was saying is that when I turn the ignition key the Tach jumps but once the engine is running not does not register the RPMs

Again, you are in the wrong forum.

You need to be in gear and maintenance...sub forum, diesel engines.
