28 Islander Holding Tank

Hi. I am trying to put a holding tank in my 28' islander. Any tips from other owners of what you have? Ideally i would like it to be at least 15 gallons.

We used to charter an Islander 28. It had a black bladder-style holding tank under the starboard side settee, connected to a macerator. Worked okay, but pretty much took up the full space.

If possible look at a plastic holding tank as they last a lot longer than bladders.

There are alternatives

I don't have a holding tank. And I've discovered that prior owners have had multiple Coast Guard citations for the direct discharge.

I bought a portapottie to install at the next haul out, while I debate about putting in a holding tank. I really recommend viewing the current thread about composting toilets.

Our I-28 has a holding tank under the starboard side of the V-birth.
