sliding hatch cover removal

I am trying to remove a wooden hatch cover from my 76 Newport 30 MKII and I can seem to find a way. Does anyone have a clew.
The Newport's sliding hatch is all wood with sealed with pitch and varnish but it needs refinishing big time
Does any one have clue has to how to get it off. I can remove the traveller. I think that might help.

You may need to remove the traveller, and you probably need to remove the slides that 'trap' the hatch... they are likely screwed down? Guessing a bit here because I can't find a good picture anywhere..

As "O fuzzy one" says, a pic would help a lot....
