fluxgate compass replacement navico ph8000 autopilot

I am looking for a replacement for the HS8000 heading sender unit for my navico ph8000 autopilot. Any suggestions for a replacement would be appreciated.

I fear you are in a no win situation here. I've tried to track one down for my ailing WP5000 with absolutely no success whatsoever. Unfortunately these appear to be the part that most often fails or as the unit gets older the first to fail.

I can only speak for the WP5000, but the compass for that is integral to the controller and the controllers are no longer available.

If the compass for the WP8000 is a stand alone unit then I see no reason why you could not use an alternative but I am no expert on these things.
