slow warming diesel

I have yanmar 2qm15 installed in my 30' S2 9.2c. Having taken care of the problems of water and solid contaminants in the fuel tank, the engine runs well again, but will not idle without a lengthy warm up period. I'm going to try running some injector cleaner through the system. Any other suggestions out there? Thanks

Is the engine actually warm? Stuck thermostat? Wrong thermostat?

Could be a stuck thermostat, I haven't changed it. I'll check if it's running warm before able to idle but suspect it's some left over debris in an injector. thanks for the suggestions. I'll post a fix when it happens.

What do you consider a long warm up period, my raw water cooled Yanmar GM 30 need a a good few minutes to push the water round the engine and out the exhaust before idling smoothly. I keep her about quarter speed till she clears the exhaust then all is smooth.

yannies run a lot cooler than other engines. might not always warm yer bath water..mine reads art 120-140 for running--i used sunshowers in my ericson.. more efficient. i donot keep a water heater for this boat-- i use sunshowers still.
