How to share large (and much requested) attachments?

I have a 70mb adobe .pdf file which is the complete Pearson 32 owners manual. There is a thread two years old which is constantly posted on of people looking for this.

Can someone advise how sailnet can help me get this out to the public?

Thanks

Suggest you establish a "photobucket", etc. account, post your manual there and simply 'direct link' from "photobucket", etc. into this site using the "go advanced" option instead of the "post quick reply" option.

I didn't know you could upload arbitrary files to photobucket...

If that doesn't work, other things you could try:

1) Find the Pearson 32 owners' group. They probably have an FTP server or a Yahoo fileserver. Upload there and post a link here. Probably the best plan since they have an incentive to maintain such an archive.

2) Use Google Docs. You can upload any sort of file and send people a link. However Google has no incentive to ensure that that document is always available; you may decide to close your account one day, they may stop providing the service, etc.

3) Search for "dropbox". Sort of like an online hard drive that you can give other people access to. Not sure if it's free (it's free to access).

I've discovered that Skype is the go for large files though I know nothing of Dropbox. Sounds interesting.

I tried to download that file. Google docs stated it was too large.
