Through hull not working

I haven't worked with through hulls much up to this point but my galley sink drain is not draining and it looks to be plugged at the through hull. The valve opens and closes OK but doesn't drain. DO I need to replace it? I was hoping there was an easier solution. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

If the valve is open and still plugged first try a plunger in the sink to blow any obstruction out. If that doesn't work remove the hose from the sink and use either a rod or smaller hose to push down to clear the line.

Fill the sink half full of hot soapy water, see if that will help unclog the drain. Another thing is to get in the water with a coat hanger and push it up the through the thru hull (gently).
After those two, take off the hose, probably grease, coffee grounds and other gunk.

There should be no reason to have to clear it from the outside.

Shut the valve. Remove hose. Slowly open valve.If water flows, shut valve and clean or replace hose to sink.If the valve is not a proper ball type make it so. but that.s another story

Not a good idea - it sometimes happens that the valve will not shut.

Just checking. Does it have a pump to get the water out?
