Bent jib furler

I'm hoping someone is familiar with riggers in the LA harbor area who work on wood masts. I would like to replace my wire to rope halyards and replace the roller furler or convert to hank on sails if need be. Can anyone help with recommendations? I would greatly appreciate any advice.

Depending on the furler most of this should not be difficult. If the sheaves are very narrow and intended only for wire then converting to line may require new sheaves.
If at present you have rope/wire halyards and the rope section passes over the sheaves now, then simply replace them with low stretch line and you're done.

As long as the furler is not one of those that 'replace' the forestay, but rather install around it then all you need do is support the mast, slacken and release the forestay, disassemble the furler and remove it, and reconnect the forestay. By all means engage a rigger for this if you're not comfortable doing it yourself.

Thank you Faster. Looks like the sheaves need replacing along with the stay.
