1986 Catalina Galley Rehab

I recently purchased a 1986 Catalina 22. The countertop that contains the sink is missing along with the teak trim on all four sides. Does anyone know where I can obtain the teak to trim out this area. I don't want to fabricate a countertop only to have to redo it when I find the teak. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions from anyone familiar with this problem.

I would guess that if your willing to wait you might find pieces from another 1986 C22 on the internet. Otherwise, you can obtain teak plywood from places like Hardwood Heaven or other such outlets on the internet.

I agree, probably easier to fabricate what you need instead of waiting for the right parts to "appear". Plus, this way you're starting anew instead of reusing someone's discarded pieces. Pics help a ton, btw.

There are lots of nice wood that can stand the moisture if properly cared for, cherry wood, oak mixed red and white, you could line your wet locker with a nice cedar. Maple is very clean and can be stained to reflect any colour you want.
If you are going to rebuild it make it beautiful and improved in function and design and create your own signature for your boat.
