tommays will become famous soon enough

It did NOT bother me a bit to spend a small fortune on Awlgrip on my two-tone topside paint job BECAUSE it is good stuff and works

BUT the Valspar Duramax also works really good in the right places which so far seems to be anything inside the boat and it has passed the one season test

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat

smurphny is on a distinguished road
I used Kilz (not the waterbased stuff) last year to undercoat inside a couple of lockers. Have not yet overcoated with anything but it seems to be really well adhered to both old painted surfaces and some new fiberglass tabbing. Also used it under the bunks (where the paint was very bad) with an Interlux Topsides enamel topcoat. These are still very good with no peeling or problems. I like the Kilz because it does a pretty good job of preventing bleed-through. Long-term durability, don't know, but it seems to be okay so far.
