General comment about classifieds here - boat location?

I was just rummaging around the classifieds on the site here and noticed than many if not more of the boats do not have even approximatly where they are located. I'm here in Wisconsin close to Milwaukee, have relatives in the Seattle area, and just followed a link to a boat apparently located in Greece. Scratch that one off since it's kind of hard to drive to Greece from Wisconsin and too costly to have a boat shipped from there to here relative to the price of the boat (not that I could afford it right now anyway).

Oh well, so now I'm thinking that if a boat does not have a general location given then I'll just assume it's far far away and look more local. Sorry for the minor rant, but if I'm looking at a $500-$2500 sailboat it would be nice to know if I have to factor in trip expenses to go look at it and possibly buy it. Within 50 miles is no problem, within 150 miles takes some scheduling, over 1,000 miles away and it probably becomes too costly.

Back to rummaging, again sorry for the minor rant, but if any of you post a boat for sale then it would be appreciated if you at least posted what country and region it was in. Thanks.

I thought your comments had merit - so I edited my ad for my 23' sailboat
that I have listed to include a general location (central Indiana) although
the city that it is in is mentioned on the linked web page.

Seems kind of odd that folks would not think of putting the boats location in an ad ?

We added a feature today that prompts all people adding new items for sale to enter the zip code of the location of the item for sale. If they enter a zip code, the system will calculate the distance from you in miles when you view their ad and type in your zip code.
