Leaking water tanks Beneteau

I have a Oceanis 400 with fibreglass tanks in the hull.The fwd tank appears to have a small leak somewhere.I have removed the bunk and all woodwork but as expected the tank sits in part of the hull grid liner and it is impossible to inspect.Has anyone experienced a similar problem?.Will I need to cut out the whole top of the tank? Has anyone else experienced this problem on a Beneteau?

Try removing the watertank and add fibreglass under the water tank. This will prevent the water from leaking.

Hi - Saw your post from 2006 - we have exactly the same problem with our forward water tank - how did you reslove your problem?

I have the same problem on my 405 and have two other ones I have worked on that had the same problem. My solution has been to grind and chisel off the fiberglass around the edge of the tank to uncover the screws that hold the tank lid on . The problem on all three has been damage around the tank to lid joint. I had to repair most of the top of the tank, there were blisters in each tank I worked with as well. I also laid up more glass around the lip of the lid to reinforce it as well as use washers on the new screws when putting it back together.
