cartop sailboat
my first time in the forums or i would have answered a while back. hope you've found a boat. i love my 12' sea-snark, its old and styrofoam. it could hold two adults and very mindful kids.( or you could all get wet very fast) i've also been introduced to a new cartop boat online in a forum for 'puddle duck racers' PDR. apparently they can be built in a day with plywood and some use homemade polytarp sails. reports are, these boats are very stable. probably much more stable of a sailboat when children are going to be aboard such a small boat. they are about 4' x8' x 12-15"deep. some make them into overnight camping boats!!! if you got kids that gotta go this is probably your best bet. i wouldnt want to take any children i know out on my sea-snark. i love that boat. this is my 3rd in the last 25 yrs. i cartopped this boat from The Dalles, OR., where i found it and got it all the way home to page, az. (lake powell where the water is now 82 degrees). good luck if you havent found one yet. blessings, kat
