Same here, I had to walk away and, get this I washed dishes causes I was so pissed ....

Using Safari (on a Mac) I can see the network timeline for a page. Using that I found that it was (IIRC), a javascript loaded from w w w.youchoose.net, I think for the new little petition window at the bottom.

Anyway, I got rid of it by adding an entry to /etc/hosts (on Windows I think it's at C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\) mapping w w w.youchoose.net to 127.0.0.1, so it just can't load. Complete page load times went from about 1 minute back to ~2 seconds.

justmike's fix worked for me. Go to your hosts file, as he directs and add a line that says: 127.0.0.1 Turning Passions into Actions | YouChoose

Fix takes effect after reboot.

Can you guys slow down the tech stuff on that fix of justmike? Not sure what you are talking about. Can you explain it to me like I am 4? Where is the host file?
