Question Endeavour 40 shower sump

I am currently replacing the sole on my Endeavour 40. When I tore up the sub-floor I knoticed a container with some kind of pump attached. I was to find out that it was my shower sump. By the looks of it, it hasn't worked in quite some time. The shower runoff must have been over flowing into the bildge. Since this has been working for awhile, would it be ok to elimate this sump and just let the shower water go into bildge and be pumped out there.

You could let your shower run into the bilge but after a bit it is likely to get a bit pongy, I would reccomend you fit some sort of sump to collect the water so it can be pumped overboard, it is possible to get an off the shelf sump with a pump allready fitted. I saw one the other day for about £80.
Cheers Jamie

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll look into that. Since I have the sump uncovered anyway, now would be the time to fix it.

Your right, good time to fix it now. Do you want your bilge pump getting soap, hair and other goop in it on a consistent basis?
