Am I the only one experiencing slow response

on Sailnet when retrieving a forum thread?
My browzer (firefox) hangs on app.serviceengine.com for a looong time before I see any text.

I'd say SailNet's response time breaks down as follows:

20% Same speed as most forums I visit.
60% A bit slower than other forums.
20% Reeaaallllyyyyy ssllloooowwww.

Your experience may vary.

Im crawling here. Perhaps it has to do with advertising web service calls loading crap

I see some timeouts on a couple of links during the load - one to stats.ads.is and one to app.serviceengine.com

If you are using Firefox then just go get the Adblock plus plugin and when you come to sailnet just block app.serviceengine.com and sailnet will run faster than ever.

The site was very, very slow.. until I blocked all the advertisements. Normally, I'm happy to let them load since they are only mildly irritating, and it probably helps the forum somehow.

But that one at the top that expands constantly floats into the 'new posts' button, and half the adds cause the page to stop loading.

Addblock fixed both.

Yes I get the same here, I like some of the adds but if I was to block them then what is the point of the advertiser paying for them. And then what happens to this great site. Maybe sailnet needs to fix the way they load. just my opinion.

Horribly slow to load and has been for several days. I'm talking so slow to load that I give up and go on to other things.

If it's ads...I understand the need for advertising to pay for things...but if it inhibits to the point it isn't being used what has been gained?
