Please quit with this annyong pop-up ad. Its ridiculously intrusive. See the following for example:

And whats *REALLY* nuts...the damn ad popped up *WHEN I WAS AUTHORING THIS THREAD*....this is nuts! It follows the cursor around and wont let me click away from it or to "x" it out.

WE AGREE 100%. The company that supplies this technology was only supposed to display one of these types of ads in a 24 hour period and that's not that was happening so we've removed their code.

In the meantime PLEASE BUY SOMETHING FROM SHOP.SAILNET.COM to help support the cause!

Looks like it's gone on my end. Thanks for the quick response you guys. I will continue to buy from SN (and recommend it to others since the prices really do rock) and will not use Ad-Block.

Gone on my end too...thanks for taking care of this. I've never run ad-block because I know the need for ad revenue. But with 5 ads already on the page (yes, 1 advert is for Sailnet store itself), you'd think that this would be enough.

How about alternative revenue sources from the forum.
1) Premium features like avatars (a few bucks here/there)
2) "buying" sticky threads for a more bucks
3) Improve the classifieds section and charge for premium listings there

Lastly....and I hate to bring it up...what about spinning off the community as an independent entity. I'm sure someone would pay a few bucks to take over a fully functional board such as this. The theory goes that the ownership could focus limited capital resources on the store and let the community stand out on its own without the cost pressures associated with maintaining it.

Good to see it has been taken care of.

As for the SailNet store ? We bought an new auto pilot late last year and I have to say both the price and the service where spot on, all the way from the US to Australia.
