Powerpilot 8000 maintenance in Beayfort, SC ea

I have a Cape Dory 28 Trawler with a inoperative powerpilot 8000 installed. It was inop when I bought the boat and as Far as I know it has been inop for years. When I bought the boat down in Tarpon Springs, FL I had a electronics guy look at the unit and he said it was to old and know one could fix it. I questioned his assessment but needed to get underway for my transit to SC. My question: does anyone know of a repair facility in the Beaufort, SC - Savannah, GA area?
